Abstract

Most memecoins follow the same arc: a burst of hype, a price spike, and then silence. Holders are left with a token that has no further reason to exist. $MEMES is built around a different idea: turn ordinary trading activity into an engine that continuously rewards holders with other promising meme tokens from across the ecosystem (as the community decides). The mechanism starts working from the very first trade.

1. Introduction

$MEMES is a token launched on Solana. Every trade generates a creator fee. Instead of disappearing into a single wallet, that fee is split 50/50: half funds a treasury that buys other meme tokens (see Section 4.1) and redistributes them to $MEMES holders on a weekly basis, and half funds ongoing development of the project.

The result is a flywheel: trading activity funds the treasury, the treasury buys tokens, tokens are distributed to holders, holders have more reason to hold and engage, and that drives more trading activity. We call this the Meme Economy flywheel.

2. Fee Mechanism

$MEMES uses a creator fee on every trade. There is no additional tax, no separate buy/sell fee layered on top.

3. The 50/50 Split

Every fee payout received by the creator wallet is divided manually by the team at first, while automation is built:

Launch-day exception. On launch day only, an extra 10% of that day's fees is set aside as a one-time Genesis pool for first holders (see 4.6). The rest of that day's fees follow the same 50/50 split.

Because both the creator wallet and the treasury wallet are public Solana addresses, every split, purchase, and distribution can be independently verified on-chain.

4. Treasury & Distribution

The treasury holds two categories of tokens, each with its own distribution rules.

4.1 Our Pick

Tokens the treasury buys directly using trading fees. The community votes on which memecoin project gets picked next (see Section 5).

Expansion path. Picks start in the Solana ecosystem. As the treasury and community grow, picks expand to memecoins on other chains (Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, the Dogecoin and Shiba Inu ecosystems, and new meme-native platforms as they go live), following the same community-vote process at every stage.

4.2 Collab / Partnership

Tokens received from official partnerships and collaborations, not purchased by the treasury, but allocated to $MEMES by partner projects. Selected by the team.

This split rewards the people who stick around. The longer you hold $MEMES, the more of these partner-token pools you become eligible for.

Why a project would partner with $MEMES:

4.3 Holder Eligibility (anti-gaming)

To receive any weekly distribution, a wallet must hold:

Eligibility is verified via on-chain snapshots taken at the start of the 7-day window and again at the distribution moment. This prevents wallets from buying in right before a snapshot, collecting a reward, and immediately selling.

4.4 Long-Term Holder Reward

The 1-year-locked portion of Collab/Partnership tokens (Section 4.2) is reserved for long-term holders: wallets that have held $MEMES continuously for 1+ year, tracked via ongoing on-chain snapshots. When the lock period for a given partner-token allocation ends, that pool is distributed exclusively among qualifying long-term holders.

4.5 Schedule & Claiming

PoolFrequencyClaim window
Our Pick (100%)Weekly7 days
Collab/Partnership (50% liquid)Weekly7 days
Collab/Partnership (50% locked)Annual, per allocation1 month, after the 1-year hold

How claiming works. Claims happen on memecoinssol.xyz, in three steps:

Two things worth stating plainly: you never pay to claim, and you never approve a transaction that could move your funds. Claiming is opt-in, so nothing is force-airdropped. Allocations left unclaimed when a window closes roll back into the next distribution pool.

4.6 Genesis: Launch-Day First-Holders Reward

A one-time reward for the people who show up on day one. On launch day, an extra 10% of that day's trading fees is set aside as a Genesis pool and shared equally among all qualifying first-day holders (pool ÷ number of qualifiers). The remaining launch-day fees follow the usual 50/50 split (Section 3).

The pool is variable and self-funded: it comes out of launch-day trading fees, so the more day-one volume, the bigger the pool. No fixed amount is promised, and no extra tokens are minted or pre-allocated for it.

How to qualify (all on launch day):

Snapshot and payout. A snapshot is taken 24 hours after launch. Every entry is cross-checked on-chain: a real $10+ launch-day buy, and still holding at the snapshot. Verified wallets receive their equal share as a direct SOL airdrop within a day or two, and the distribution is announced publicly. Genesis is pushed out directly rather than claimed, because the qualifying entry (the reply with your wallet) already tells us where to send it; the recurring distributions use the claim flow in Section 4.5.

Anti-gaming. Qualification is based on the real buy transaction rather than current holding value; holding through the snapshot prevents buy-qualify-dump; one reward per wallet and one entry per X account, with obvious sybil rings filtered manually. If entries balloon unexpectedly, the number of qualifiers may be capped or the buy threshold raised before payout.

Genesis is an early-supporter thank-you and a transparent share of fees. It is not a lottery, not a guaranteed amount, and not an investment return. As with everything in this paper, nothing here is financial advice.

7. The Fun IRL Hub

$MEMES starts with on-chain rewards, but the longer-term vision goes further: bringing memecoins into everyday life.

Memecoins are one of the largest and most active communities in crypto, and crypto is steadily becoming a normal way to pay for things. The Fun IRL Hub aims to connect those two ideas, giving $MEMES holders a path to turn their rewards into real-world fun.

Early focus areas being explored include:

The Fun IRL Hub is not limited to $MEMES alone. Part of the vision is to bring memecoin communities together, so holders across different projects can put their holdings to real-world use, with $MEMES as the hub that makes it possible.

The same goes for chains. $MEMES grows outward in stages: first the Solana ecosystem, then memecoins on other chains such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, the Shiba Inu ecosystem and the Dogecoin ecosystem, including new meme-native platforms as they go live. All memes, all chains, one real world.

A memecoin you can only sell gives holders a single plan: the exit. A memecoin you can use IRL gives them a better one: spend a little, hodl the rest. Real-world use means a reason to hold beyond the chart, and demand that does not depend on timing the top. That is the thesis the Fun IRL Hub is built on, for the whole memecoin category, not a promise about any token's price.

Specifics such as partners, supported categories, and how redemption works are in active development and will be detailed as they are finalized. The Fun IRL Hub is a Phase 3 initiative (see Roadmap).
